Mack Fire Protection has overseen the design, installation and regular maintenance for a number of wide-ranging commercial projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Westchester County, NY. Recent projects include Stamford Town Center, Crate and Barrel, CVS, Rite Aid, Milford Marketplace, North Haven Commons, Lowe’s, Super Stop and Shop and a Whole Foods distribution center.

130 Main Street, New Canaan, CT
A.P. Construction Company contracted with Mack Fire Protection, LLC to design, supply and install complete fire protection throughout this 22,500 square foot facility.
This 22,500 square foot historical building presented several challenges to our designer and installers. Careful consideration had to be taken to maintain historical requirements and meet today’s code requirements. We achieved this by incorporating several different head types into the design, which allowed the owner greater flexibility in wall and ceiling construction.
The end result was a clean, neat installation that blended nicely with the buildings historical character. MFP has been retained by the owner to perform NFPA 25 quarterly inspections, testing and routine maintenance.
North Haven Commons, North Haven, CT
KBE Building Corporation contracted Mack Fire Protection, LLC to design, supply and install sprinkler coverage throughout this 200,000 plus square feet of retail space. The plaza hosts several major retailers such as, Toys R Us, Petco and Best Buy.
MFP designed and installed wet sprinkler coverage based on insurance company requirements and NFPA 13 design criteria’s. Approximately 1850 wet heads where installed throughout the plaza and surrounding out buildings.
MFP completed the project on time and under budget and was rewarded by the owners with a contract to inspect and maintain the systems per NFPA 25.
Darien Rowayton Bank, Darien, CT
A.P. Construction Company contracted with Mack Fire Protection, LLC to design build a complete sprinkler system per NFPA 13. This 15,400 square foot building required a wet system with an FM-200 Dry Chemical System protecting the Data Room.
In addition to the bank finishes, MFP was contracted to perform tenant fit-outs located on the first and second floors of the building.
MFP has been retained by the owner to perform NFPA 25 quarterly inspections, testing and routine maintenance.
Rolling Hills Country Club, Wilton, CT
A.P. Construction Company contracted with Mack Fire Protection, LLC to design, supply and install complete fire protection throughout this 44,000 square foot facility.
This property required over 600 wet and dry sprinklers, with a Fire Pump. With no municipal water available to the site, MFP incorporated the Olympic Size Pool as the primary water source for the sprinkler system. MFP installed an 8” fire line from the bottom of the pool to the fire pump room.
This unique arrangement saved the owners the cost of having to provide a very costly storage tank. The project was a great success and MFP has been retained by the owner to perform NFPA 25 quarterly inspections, fire pump testing and routine maintenance.
BYK Chemie Building #7, Wallingford, CT
Mack Fire Protection, LLC was contracted by Hylwa Incorporated to design, supply and install fire protection throughout this 20,000 square foot chemical storage building consisting of rack storage of multiple types of flammable liquids.
MFP representatives flew to Mansfield, TX to receive special hazard training from Chemguard Fire Suppression Solutions. With this information MFP designed and installed a state of the art AR-AFFF closed head foam system for both over head and in-rack sprinkler protection.
The final design included a 1000 gallon foam storage tank and over 750 total sprinklers. Careful consideration was taken to design and install sprinklers to not interfere with the customer’s unique storage arrangement.
The project was a great success for all involved and MFP continues to assist and partner with Hylwa Inc. on a wide range of challenging projects.
Greens at Cannondale, Wilton, CT
When A.Pappajohn Company needed a quick turnaround on design and installation of a sprinkler system the choice was clear. Mack Fire Protection, LLC was selected based on a proven track record of stellar performances with A. Pappajohn Company.
Greens at Cannondale is a 30,000 square foot senior living apartment building protected by a combination of wet sprinkler coverage with Anti-Freeze Glycol protecting the unheated spaces located in the attic.
MFP designed and installed approximately 400 sprinklers throughout this high end facility within months in order to help A. Pappajohn complete this project on time and under budget.
Poets Landing, Danbury, CT
This exclusive high end 200,000 square foot plus condominium project is located on the shores of Lake Candlewood. Mack Fire Protection, LLC was contracted directly by the owners to design and install sprinkler coverage throughout the living spaces and club house.
MFP designed and installed over 2100 wet sprinklers throughout the four major buildings of this project. Close coordination was required with the framers and insulators to protect the piping in the cathedral ceiling spaces from potential freezing. MFP worked hand in hand with the owner’s representative to achieve the desired architectural layout and maintain system integrity.
The project was a great success and the owner’s contracted with MFP to perform NFPA 25 inspections, testing and maintain the systems installed.
