Our healthcare portfolio includes hospitals as well as MRI, CyberKnife, dialysis and radiology facilities. Mack Fire Protection, LLC has worked with Middlesex Hospital, Stamford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and others on failsafe fire protection systems designed to prevent water damage that would result in costly downtime to essential medical equipment. We preserve the integrity of the piping with pre-action special hazard systems filled with air so there is no false water delivery.
Healthcare projects range from new construction and full engineering reviews to the retrofitting and expansion of existing buildings. Mack Fire Protection knows applicable code requirements and provides guidance throughout the course of each project on the budgets, types of coverage and how the fire protection system will be integrated with the overall look of the healthcare facility.
Middlesex Hospital, Middletown CT
Mack Fire Protection, LLC was contracted by The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company to design and install complete sprinkler coverage throughout the new addition, Parking Garage and Emergency Services Helipad.
This challenging project required numerous sprinkler technologies to meet the demand. Wet systems, Standpipes, Dry Systems, Pre-Action and Foam Systems where required to protect this diverse space.
This project was a great success for The Whiting-Turner Company and it marked the beginning of a beneficial relationship between MFP and Whiting-Turner. We have done several other projects with Whiting-Turner with equally successful results.
The hospital engineering department was also impressed with the knowledge and craftsmanship that went into Mack Fire Protection’s work and has entrusted MFP with performing NFPA 25 quarterly inspections, testing and ongoing maintenance throughout the existing building and new addition.
The company has always been able to perform the work as scheduled. You never have to be concerned with Mack Fire Protection's performance, which allows you to focus on other activities. They always center all the sprinkler heads on ceiling tiles and ensure the tile is not marked by finge
